Correct someone gently naturally in German
A gentle correction focuses on the detail. Mark uncertainty when you are uncertain, check information together, or make a brief factual correction without criticizing the person's ability.
Three ways to say it
Ich glaube, die Besprechung ist am Donnerstag, nicht am Freitag.
I think the meeting is on Thursday, not Friday.
Give the date you believe is correct while signaling your current understanding.
Könnten wir das Datum zusammen prüfen?
Could we check that date together?
Check a disputed or uncertain date together.
Nur eine kleine Korrektur: Der Zug fährt um sechs ab.
Just a small correction: the train leaves at six.
Introduce one factual correction and immediately give the correct information.
Avoid translating word by word
English 'a small correction' describes the importance or scope of a correction, not its physical size. Keep the conventional introductory phrase and the factual detail together rather than translating 'small' in isolation.

A note on speaking German
Use Sie for formal address and du with people you address informally. Könnten Sie …? is a useful polite request. Keep noun capitals and the verb position shown in each complete sentence.
The examples preserve German accents and ß. Read a full sentence before replacing a detail: a subordinate clause can move the verb to the end, and case can change an article or pronoun.
