Decline an offer naturally in Portuguese
A polite refusal can be brief. Thank the person, answer clearly, and add a reason only when it is useful and true.
Three ways to say it
Não, obrigado / obrigada. Estou bem.
No, thanks. I'm fine.
Decline a simple offer without adding an explanation.
Obrigado / obrigada, mas já comi.
Thanks, but I've already eaten.
Give a real reason for declining food.
É gentileza sua, mas consigo me virar.
That's kind of you, but I can manage.
Acknowledge an offer of assistance while explaining that you can manage.
Avoid translating word by word
English 'I'm fine' may politely mean 'I don't need anything' in response to an offer. A literal statement about your health might leave the offer unanswered, so keep the refusal and thanks clear.

A note on speaking Portuguese
These guides use Brazilian Portuguese. Você is a common everyday address; senhor or senhora may fit a more formal interaction. Eu gostaria and poderia can soften requests without making them complicated.
Keep the accents and nasal spellings, such as não and conexão. Portuguese in Portugal may use different everyday vocabulary or pronouns. The examples aim for broadly understandable Brazilian wording.
