FAQ
Time, Numbers & Colors in Spanish: common questions
Are Spanish days capitalized?
No. Days and months stay lowercase: el lunes, enero. You capitalize them only at the start of a sentence.
Why is one uno and also un?
Uno is the number by itself. Before a masculine noun it shortens to un: un café. Before a feminine noun it is una: una mesa.
Do Spanish colors change with gender?
Colors ending in -o change: rojo, roja, amarillo, amarilla. Azul and verde only change in the plural. Naranja and rosa usually stay the same.
