La gare is a train station. La station is a metro station. For a bus stop, say l'arrêt de bus.

Is un billet the same as un ticket?

Both mean ticket. Un billet is for a train, a plane, or a concert. Un ticket is mostly for the metro, the bus, or the tram.

How do I ask "where is" in French?

Say Où est… ? followed by the place: Où est la gare ? For plural things, use Où sont… ?, as in Où sont les toilettes ?
