How do I say "my mother" and "my father" in French?
Ma mère and mon père. The word for "my" matches the gender of the noun: mon for masculine, ma for feminine, and mes for plural, as in mes parents.
Does femme mean woman or wife?
Both. La femme means woman, and ma femme means my wife. In the same way, la fille means girl, and ma fille means my daughter.
What do French children call their grandparents?
The standard words are grand-mère and grand-père, but at home most children say mamie and papi.
